About Us
About Us:
Jeff and I have been married for 19 years. We both graduated from Evangel College in 1994 and live in Maine. Currently, we are both teaching: Jeff teaches grade 6 math, and I am teaching writing enrichment courses to homeschoolers. In addition to this, I, myself, homeschool as well spend a great deal of time acclimating our new daughter Joelle (adopted from China, May 2011) to the everyday life of the Padgetts. We have had two homegrown boys, Jake and Jonah, and the Lord has now grown in our hearts two girls: Juliese (China, 2008) and Joelle (China, 2011).
On February 10, 2010, my husband and I agreed to walk down the wonderful path of adopting from China yet again except we had no idea where the money was going to come from. However, the Lord knew and provided all funds. We owe nothing; you may read about this testimony in earlier posts on our website.
At first, I was unsure whether or not I should keep this website; however, I feel by candidly recording my thoughts, experiences, and God’s heart about adoption, maybe more families will take the steps of faith like we did. Do you remember the Biblical account of Peter stepping out of the boat and walking out on the water–to Jesus? As long as he kept his eyes on the Lord, Peter never sunk. This account is so parallel to our own adoption fundraising experiences; God will provide the money for you if you trust Him, keep your eyes on Him, and take it step by step. Joelle’s name means Jehovah is God and God is willing. He is willing and able to give you all of the desires of your heart–just put His heart first!
KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE CROSS!
